1938 Rolls Royce 25/30 H.J. Mulliner Saloon
Chassis number: GZR1
Registration number: EYM345
About to arrive with us from long term ownership; The current custodian has owned the car for some 25 years whilst the prior owner, woodhead seeds of Leeds had the car for a futher 30 years.
Originally supplied to the onwers of Glenlivet Whisky fame; This H.J. Mulliner saloon is one of four produced to this design taking the form of an elgant & eminently useable four light saloon. The car when new was green & has had a high quality glass out respray a few years ago also in dark green.
The current owner has spared little exepnse in keeping the car properly maintained. The engine & transmission were rebuilt by the noted engineer David Haynes some 13,000 miles ago. Just recently a full mild steel exhaust has been fabricated & fitted at vast cost (£5,300) by McKenzie Guppy of Dorset.
The car is has a Laycock overdrive installed which as the onwer informs us transforms the driving experience on longer runs. Almost all brightwork has been removed & replated. Pleasingly a full set of small tools resides in a box located to the rear of the front seats.
The interior of this car is original leather which whilst worn & showing its age is still in very serviceable condition & is part of the charm of the car. This is a lovely honest unmolested car that has had money spent upon it without regard to cost to keep it in great running condition & drives exactly as a Rolls-Royce ought.
