2027 Kia Seltos Arrives in Mexico: Full Pricing, and the First-Ever Hybrid Goes on Presale
The second-generation Kia Seltos is on sale in Mexico from MXN 499,900 in gasoline form. The new SXL HEV and X-Line HEV hybrids can be reserved online through Mercado Libre until September 30, with deliveries starting in the second half of October.

The new Kia Seltos is far more than a facelift. The second-generation compact SUV rides on a new platform, has grown in every key dimension and, for the first time, offers a hybrid. It pairs a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor for 154 hp and 195 lb-ft, with a combined rating of up to 25.11 km/l (about 59 mpg on Mexico's official test cycle).
Gasoline versions are already in Mexican showrooms from MXN 499,900 (about US$28,290). The hybrids are taking a different route to market: they can only be reserved online through the e-commerce platform Mercado Libre until September 30, with first deliveries due in the second half of October.

Powertrains
- 1.5L naturally aspirated (LX, EX): 113 hp, 106 lb-ft, IVT, up to 17.96 km/l combined
- 1.5L turbo GDI (EX Pack, SX): 197 hp, 187 lb-ft, eight-speed automatic, up to 16.2 km/l
- 1.6L GDI hybrid (SXL HEV, X-Line HEV): 154 hp and 195 lb-ft combined. It uses a six-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddles to adjust regenerative braking, a column-mounted shift-by-wire selector, and returns up to 25.11 km/l. The hybrids also get multi-link independent rear suspension in place of the gasoline models' torsion beam.

Market Analysis
The Seltos matters to Kia in Mexico: the nameplate has passed 105,000 sales since its 2020 launch. The new generation is meant to protect that volume with a better-equipped gasoline range and to open a second front in the fast-growing hybrid SUV segment. There it lines up against established players such as the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid and the Ford Territory Hybrid.
The timing is good. Mexico sold 17,046 electrified vehicles in August, up 43.6% year on year, and conventional hybrids were the bulk of that, at 11,146 units. Electrified models took a record 12.8% of the market over January–August.
For Mexican buyers the choice is clear-cut. The hybrid is the pick for anyone who wants lower fuel bills without depending on public charging. The MXN 499,900 LX already includes a full driver-assistance suite and the 27-inch screen. Anyone set on the hybrid should note that online reservations close on September 30.
